Didgeridoo Sounds: Advanced kookaburra

Every didge player wants to be able to do a great kookaburra. We show you how to play an AMAZING kookaburra using a combination of techniques. Warning: this is challenging!

Lesson goals
- Be able to play the “gargling vocal” section of the kookaburra
- Be able to play the “koo koo koo kaa kaa kaa” section (the beginner kookaburra)
- Combine the double tonguing technique with the beginner kookaburra
- Play all techniques to produce your new advanced kookaburra bird call
Training tips
- Practice each component separately
- Get comfortable with each technique without the didgeridoo first, then try on your didge
- Try to use the smallest amount of air you can so you don’t run out
- This may take quite a bit of practice to get right. Be patient, stick with it, and very soon you will have an amazing kookaburra sound
