In this lesson, we introduce you to triple tonguing

Lesson goals

• Recognise the 3 different tongue positions created from the phrases “ta…ka…ta”
• Play the “ta-ka-ta ta-ka-ta” triple tonguing technique
• Play it pronounced both softly and strongly
• Play the rhythm “ta-ka-ta ta-ka-ta (B)”

Training tips

• First practice saying “ta-ka-ta… ta-ka-ta… ta-ka-ta” without the didgeridoo
• Then practice it through vibrating lips
• Then play it on the didgeridoo
• The “harder” you pronounce “ta-ka-ta”, the more it’s going to affect your drone
