Lesson overview

In this lesson, we show you how to add vocals to your double tonguing technique. This is one of the techniques used in the advanced kookaburra so get practicing, it will be worth it

Lesson goals

  • Play the “ta-ka ta-ka” double tonguing technique while adding a high pitched vocal
  • Add your vocal both quietly and loudly
  • Play the rhythm “ta-ka ta-ka ta-ka (B)” while adding your vocal

Training tips

  • First practice vocalising “ta-ka… ta-ka… ta-ka” without the didgeridoo
  • Then practice it through vibrating lips
  • Then play it on the didgeridoo
  • The “harder” you pronounce “ta-ka”, the more it’s going to affect your drone
  • The higher pitched your voice, the clearer you will hear it
